There has never been a more important time in human history to understand our position within the natural scheme of things, and appreciate the impact of our actions and decisions.
Man is special and remarkable not because of our dominance over the Earth, but due to our uniqueness within the animal kingdom. However, since every animal is unique not just within the realm of planet Earth, but also within the context of the universe, they all exhibit a dominance in their own special way. Nowhere else in the universe will you find an African elephant, snouted cobra, golden-brown baboon spider, box jellyfish or even a human being. All of these animals have solved their natural problems in a unique way and from their own individual perspective. This makes life precious and worth saving.
Over the past 25 million years, Mankind has changed Earth’s systems through short sightedness and brute force, creating our own global natural disaster. A period characterised by mankind’s significant impact upon the Earth… the Age of the Anthropocene.
