Understanding medically important spiders and their bites, is like wading through a hodgepodge of internet hoaxes, old wives tales, misinformation, fact, scientific literature and spider bite misdiagnosis. Deciphering fact from fiction is an almost impossible task.
Bite Me! is an exploration of our current understanding of spiders and their bites. Through an examination of our values and beliefs, the context of scientific literature, medical data and media portrayal, Bite Me! clears away misinformation and presents the subject in an entertaining and easy to understand way. More importantly however, Bite Me! explores how these iconic creatures can help us to understand our changing world, how to create the future, and how we can make the world a better place.
