Practical field guide training in your own backyard will give your guides the insight on your local creepy crawlies. Where every your Lodge is situated and whenever it suits you, field guide training will open you eyes to the smaller creatures.

A weekend on a private Game Farm in the Waterberg near Vaalwater. Jonathan will be leading walks and giving talks to guests of the private game farm. This is a unique oppurtunity to meet and spend some time with a leading expert on southern African scorpions.

The weekends activities include.

  • Friday: Arrive at the game farm to a roaring bushveld fire.
  • Saturday: Morning walk, followed by a session lounging next to a swimming pool. Mid afternoon game drive where we will stop off and see some of the worlds longest scorpions. (21cm in length!) In the Evening we'll go on a night drive to see the nighttime inhabitants of the Waterberg region. We'll unpack the UV Troches andsee what we can find at some prime scorpion habitats. On return a large fire will be waiting, red wine and camp fire stories.
  • Sunday: Later morning walk followed by lunch and a swim. We'll take an open landrover into the mountains were we'll have a look for spiders and scorpions in one of the secluded valleys. On return lunch will be served.
