Jonathan Leeming of Scorpion Adventures is proud to offer a unique and exciting spider and scorpion course at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens, Roodepoort The course consists of morning presentation, spider and scorpion handling, field work and a unique look at southern African spiders and scorpions.

The course cost includes all snacks, drinks, tea, coffee and lunch. Students will also receive 72 page workbook, writing and drawing instruments and a certificate. 

This full day course is ideal for anyone who is interested in arachnids (spiders, scorpions, amblypygids and solifugids) and would like to learn from a world leading authority. The course provides the solid foundations for understanding and identifying southern African spiders and scorpions. The spider and scorpion handling component is sure to get the blood flowing! Endorsed by the Field Guide Association of South Africa.

Jonathan Leeming of Scorpion Adventures is proud to offer a unique and exciting spider and scorpion course in Northern Natal at Bonamanzi. The course consists of morning presentation, spider and scorpion handling, followed by exciting and practical field work on foot in the area.

Northern Natal offers a variety of habitats and a high arthropod diversity. Home to high population densities of spiders and scorpions. Bonamanzi is a Natural Heritage Site bordered by the spectacular Lake St. Lucia - a World Heritage Site - and the magnificent Hluhluwe River.
So you have done the big 5 reserve thing. Driving around looking at animals from the confines of the vehicle. If you are like me I bet you’ve sat there wanting to get off! Check out the animal tracks, have a look at that flower, swim in a mountain stream, explore a rocky outcrop, walk along a cliff to marvel at the view, find those frogs making that sound, scratch around for spiders and scorpions, track rhino on foot, night walks, sit quietly and envelope yourself in the sounds of Africa.
